分光 Bunkou (Spectrum)
Part of a series of yubinuki that play with light refraction, this yubinuki mirrors the way I perceive white light when I look directly at it: it appears edged or haloed in rainbows, an effect I have long sought to replicate in different mediums. By weaving the overlay of white beneath each band of color at strategic points, the white “light” of the yubinuki becomes fractured by rainbows.

Yubinuki are designed to be worn between the top two joints of the index or middle finger when used as thimbles. If you intend to wear it as a ring, it is a size 8. Chains or custom kumihimo cords are available as an add-on if you would like to wear it as a necklace.

While yubinuki are tougher than they look, please remember that the core of the ring is cardstock and batting, not metal, and take care not to toss it in a bag where it may be crushed out of shape by something heavy. For transport, make sure it is protected by a box or placed around a ring cushion to help it hold its shape.
