銀杏 Ichou (Gingko) Pincushion
While gingko leaves are a significant part of Japanese symbolism, this is not a traditional pattern but one I developed myself. This particular piece was stitched in the early fall in the colors of the season: gold for the gingko with a hint of orange for the afternoon light, on a background of hand-dyed olive cotton.

Each pincushion is stitched in cotton thread on hand-dyed cotton lugana with a wood base that has been stained and satin-finished with water-based products.
