紅葉 Kouyou (Autumn Colors)

$60.00

My favorite time of year in Japan is the fall when the many varieties of Japanese maple gradually change to a sea of orange and crimson that makes the mountainsides look as though they are in flames, and the gingko trees that so often line the streets drop leaves of gold. This yubinuki was designed to evoke the feeling of the sunlight through those autumn leaves.

Yubinuki are designed to be worn between the top two joints of the index or middle finger when used as thimbles. If you intend to wear it as a ring, it is a size 8. Chains or custom kumihimo cords are available as an add-on if you would like to wear it as a necklace.

  • Silk thread, silk batting, cotton

  • While yubinuki are tougher than they look, please remember that the core of the ring is cardstock and batting, not metal, and take care not to toss it in a bag where it may be crushed out of shape by something heavy. For transport, make sure it is protected by a box or placed around a ring cushion to help it hold its shape.
